Continuous Improvement: Delphi Enhances Its Fuel Module Kits

The best technicians are dedicated to staying current on the latest product developments and updates so they can provide superior service to their customers. And Delphi is equally committed to continuous improvement – as demonstrated by the recent enhancements introduced to its fuel module kits, which were made to address known field issues. The improvements are approved and used by vehicle Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) on their fuel modules.
These improvements make the fuel module look different from earlier designs, and technicians should familiarize themselves with the new fuel module kits before installing them on any vehicles.
The enhancements include:
- A new fuel module electrical connector, which resists wiring and connector overheating.
- An improved fuel level sensor, which is resistant to sulfur contamination and contact finger wear.
- A new vehicle body harness splice kit, to upgrade the vehicle body harness to match the new electrical connector in the fuel module cover. The body harness splice kit has long lead length and weather-proof wire splices for easy installation and increased durability.
- Internal guide rod springs, which replace the external springs previously located on the guide tubes. The guide springs have been installed internally in the bucket, which eliminates wire and fuel tube abrasion.
- A detached float arm assembly, which prevents damage during shipping.
- New instruction sheets, to provide direction on installing the float arm assembly and splicing the new body harness.
